I’m not sure why we use treadmills as metaphors for “boring and tedious,” because I’ve always enjoyed the few times I’ve used a treadmill or treadmill-like device. I enjoy the almost hypnotic “sameness” and repetitive nature of walking a few miles on a treadmill while enjoying the weather-free climate control of a good fitness center.
