Okay everybody — let’s just take an extra breath and a step back …
By Gary | November 20, 2008
Anybody understand why the economy in the U.S. and especially the "stock market" is plunging downhill so rapidly? Even worldwide, stocks and various investments are plunging -- and do you know why??
Panic. Fear.
Essentially, the same stocks in the same companies which were relatively secure and stable long-term investments a month ago are STILL a stable long-term investment. Well, sure, some financial institutions and even some manufacturers are tanking, but for the most part investments that were stable in September are STILL stable in November and will STILL be stable in December and onward.
PANIC and FEAR are the elements that are literally costing our nation and the investors of our nation -- from major bankers down to small investors like my son! -- combined TRILLIONS of dollars.
We all ought to take a step back and put this stuff in perspective. Our current president and his administration seem incapable of instilling this simple thought in our wonderful national "psyche": We ought to all take an extra deep breath and take a step back from the panic and fear.
If we all settle down and realize the nation is fundamentally sound and that the problems we have can be and ARE being dealt with -- it'll go a long way toward stabilizing our economy and the stock market. Then we can get back to living our lives, growing our country -- and all sleep better nights!
