Summer comes too close on the heels of spring these days
Chalk it up to global warming if you want. Or perhaps it's just the impact of this year's El Nino (La Nina?) or whatever those mysterious temperature deviations are in the Pacific Ocean. For whatever reason, I swear the springs around here are getting shorter and the summers longer.
Maybe that's just a function of getting old?? Maybe I just notice hot weather more now than I used to, but I HATE the way we start getting high humidity and 80+ degree days in April and May more now than we used to. We've had early in the year tornadoes this year, too -- as in January instead of April or May.
I've remarked on weather stuff before, and I suppose it really doesn't matter much, does it? We really can't do much to change the weather. Our options are sort of limited -- live with it or move. And when you've lived in the same home for almost 30 years, raising your kids there, it's not easy to move. Too much sentiment and too much just plain clutter/junk accumulates over those years.
How's your weather these days? Storms, doom, and gloom slapping things around where you live? You have my deepest sympathies if that's true. And if you're living in some perfect climate where the weather is always balmy and the breezes gentle -- you have my envy! Send some of that weather over here to southwest Missouri, please.
