Work online? Where’s your favorite work location?

By Gary | November 13, 2008

First of all, you gotta gimme a break -- I'm an Old Guy, and the whole wonderful world of the Internet -- heck, most high-tech stuff! -- is still a magical place for me. I am absolutely thrilled to be able to easily work online from just about any location.

With that in mind, what's your favorite location for working online? Are you stuck in an office? Do you only work out of your home?

I mention this subject, because I suspect many of you haven't yet discovered the wonderful freedom of work locations if your work is done online. I like to work out of a local coffee shop when I can. I set up my laptop and take advantage of their free WiFi service -- while also enjoying a bagel and some coffee, then more coffee, then still more coffee ...

Uh, well, you get the idea!

My second favorite work location is one of our public libraries. They have small study rooms I can reserve in advance and use for most of a work day. (I think there's a 6 hour limit?) In the case of the library, they also offer free WiFi, so I can settle down in the study room and get a lot done. And, unlike libraries of my youth, they DO allow me to bring covered drinks into the study room -- meaning still more coffee!

What's your favorite online work location? Leave a comment and let us know.
