Writing about the Old West is something I really enjoy

Some of the writing I’ve been doing online lately has been especially fun for me, as well as making a small bit of profit, because it involves something I have a passion for — life in the Old West.

I’ve been a “Western” junkie since my childhood back in the ’50s. (No, NOT the 1850s; I’m not THAT old.) My favorite television shows and movies all gravitated toward Westerns. A few years ago I decided to try my hand at spinning a few Western yarns — and I actually have three or four aborted starts at Western novels gathering dust somewhere here on my hard drive.

In recent weeks, I’ve rekindled my interest in the Old West, sort of resurrecting an article site I have about life in the Old West, which you’ve discovered if you clicked on the link I created above.

I’m finding as I research the Old West online that there are quite a number of Western history and lore websites, many larger and better than mine. But it’s a start.

I’ve also found I can spread the word and get readers to find my Western site using various free online article directories and free directory submission services. I write about some person, place, or event regarding the West, then post that article in one of the article directories with a link back to my website.

It’s slow work, but I’m gaining a few new visitors each week. And it’s fun because I love reading and writing about the Old West. So “saddle up” and give my Old West site a look if you’d like!
